Corey Scott Dowd Is An Expert Skier

Corey Scott Dowd is a Greensboro based young professional who happens to be an expert skier. At the age of four, his grandparents started taking him to Colorado where he learned to snow ski and thereafter it became an annual trip. They have a condo in Frisco, Colorado and it is relatively close to his favorite ski slopes. His passion towards skiing grew gradually as the time passed and he has been to almost every major slope in Colorado. Including areas such as Keystone, A-Basin, Copper, Breckenridge and Vail.

At the end of his first week of lessons Corey Scott Dowd got onto a regular ski lift and got off with some encouragement and skied down green slopes as if he had been skiing a lot. He has progressed to be an expert black run skier although he had several “yard sale” crashes (in which his equipment goes in all directions). He has skied slaloms, moguls, and done slope edge tree skiing. 

Besides skiing, he is also an excellent cook who likes to make various dishes using different flavors and ingredients. He has worked as a pizza and sandwich maker in Newk’s Restaurant where he prepared food and filled accurate orders for all sorts of dishes and soups. He was also involved in smoothie creations, food preparations, and customer food service at Tropical Smoothie Cafe. He mostly enjoys being creative with Italian cuisine.

Corey Scott Dowd of NC has been involved in community services, one of which is Project Bark which included pet assistance in neighborhoods and animal shelter deliveries. He has given personal services to animal groups as well as lunch back pack program.

As a skier, he had his first lessons when he was only four years old. At the end of his lessons, he got into a regular ski-lift and sailed down the green slopes like he was an expert skier. He has mostly skied in Colorado at Copper, Keystone, Breckenridge, and Vail. Besides this, he also ran cross country and finished with a much faster race tune over the team’s season.

He is planning to work with a Guilford Technical Community College career counselor to decide if either Lighting and Sound Management in the entertainment field, or warehousing management courses are the most appropriate for him.

Corey Scott Dowd also loves to play guitar and he enjoys music. He started playing guitar when he was about nine years old and received lessons for both bass and regular electric guitar. His next musical objective is to play the drums. The most amazing thing about him is that he is always eager to fill up his life with various activities and things he enjoys and the people he cares the most about.

Corey Scott Dowd Started Skiing At the Age Of 4

But he has a special love for skiing and is an avid skier. He started taking skiing lessons when he was just four years old. He has skied mostly in Colorado at Breckenridge, Copper, Keystone, and A-Basin, as well as Vail.  His favorite hills and lifts are at Copper Mountain. 

In his most adventurous times, he has skied moguls, slaloms and done slope-edge tree skiing.  While Corey Scott Dowd has snowboarded, the balance requirements are different and he much prefers skiing. He always tries to fill his life with adventures and memories.

Corey Scott Dowd, a graduate of New Gardens Friends School, has worked with various well-known establishments in the food service industry. Corey Scott Dowd has always been passionate about cooking. Although he likes to cook almost anything, his favorite is Italian cuisine. Corey enjoys the endless possibilities in using pasta in a dish. For high school projects he chose the cooking options as it was something he not only could do well, but also thoroughly enjoyed. For him, it was a way to stand out differently from others in school. It also gave him a chance to get out of his comfort zone. 

Corey Scott Dowd is also passionate about music and has loved it since he was a little kid. He started playing guitar when he was only nine years old. He received lessons for both regular electric guitar and bass guitar. Gradually, he realized that he liked playing the bass a little more than regular guitar, so he chose to go back and forth between the two. He also wants to learn to play drums.

Corey Scott Dowd is a foodie who likes to try new cuisine and create his own innovative recipes. He likes to cook almost anything. He enjoys Italian more than any other because there are endless possibilities for using pasta in a dish. He used to choose cooking options for High School projects because it was something he was good at it. His teachers and friends always appreciated him for this talent.

In the desire to learn more, he received lessons for both regular electric guitar and bass guitar. He als0 wants to learn to play the drums as well as a future project.

Corey Scott Dowd is living in The Student Quarters near the University of NC at Greensboro.  He plans to pursue a degree in Sound and Lighting Technology from Guilford Technical Community College in High Point, NC.

Corey Scott Dowd Is Enrolling In a Sound and Lighting Technology Program at Guilford Technical Community College

Corey Scott Dowd is an alumnus of New Garden Friends School in Greensboro, NC. He graduated in 2014 and is currently enrolling in a 2-year degree program in Sound and Lighting Technology at Guilford Technical Community College. 

Corey Scott Dowd has experience in the food service industry and has worked for many popular establishments, including Edible Arrangements, Newk’s Restaurant, and Tropical Smoothie Café. He has also worked as a part-time Donations Handler at Freedom House Thrift. Here, he picked up large donations items (electronics, furniture), arranged them in one of the three stores as directed, and provided advertising assistance.

Corey Scott Dowd is a sports enthusiast and has participated in a number of different sports, including soccer, basketball, and skiing. He also ran cross country and accomplished a big race time difference from year start to finish. He loves music and started playing guitar at the age of nine. He has taken lessons for both regular electric guitar and bass guitar. He now wants to learn to play drums as well. Other than music, cooking, and sports, he enjoys watching movies, traveling, driving, and being with friends and family.

He also worked with Edible Arrangements where he achieved creative food preparation using fruit.  When he cooks privately, he most enjoys being creative with Italian cuisine.

His first course will be for warehousing/forklift certification.  Thereafter, he is planning to work with a GTCC career counselor to determine if either sound/lighting training in the arts and entertainment field or warehousing management courses are most appropriate for him.
